Our Story & Why We Do ThisLike many dog owners, we noticed that even people who absolutely love their pets often have one “blah” moment each week—scooping poop. Talking with friends, walking through neighbourhoods, and spending time in backyards made one thing clear: many dog owners wanted help keeping their outdoor spaces clean and healthy.
After moving to Drumheller in 2026, with some free time and a desire to meet people and contribute to the community, the idea for Puppy Poo Patrol was born.
It’s not glamorous work, but it’s important. Clean yards protect pets, families, neighbours, and the environment. That belief still guides how we operate today.
As Puppy Poo Patrol has grown, it has remained a team of dog lovers (and coffee lovers) who take pride in being prompt, polite, and dependable—treating every yard as if it were our own.
Our Honesty Policy
Our staff members complete driver’s abstract checks and police background checks before being allowed onto client properties. This helps ensure your peace of mind when we’re working in your yard.
In return, we ask for honesty and transparency from our clients.
All payments are due on the 1st of the month for the following month, and accurate information about the number of dogs on the property is essential for fair pricing and proper scheduling.
If the number of dogs on the property is misrepresented and later discovered, services will be re-priced and back-billed from the start of the contract. If the balance is not paid, services may be discontinued.
We believe this is fair and reasonable, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
FAQsGetting Started & Scheduling No. You do not need to be home. However, for safety reasons, we ask that all dogs be kept inside or kenneled during service.
Service days are assigned based on your neighborhood route. This allows us to provide efficient, reliable service. As our client base grows, scoop days may occasionally change.
Yes. Signing up can be done at any time. Spring cleanups begin in March, with regular service starting the following week.
Payments & Billing Yes. We offer the option to spread payments over 12 months to avoid a larger spring cleanup fee. This means your spring clean still occurs even though services pause during winter months.
Yes. All contracts begin with an initial clean. Yards that have not been maintained regularly may require additional time due to accumulation.
Even when service is delayed due to weather, your dog continues to use the yard. When service resumes, more waste must be removed. Our pricing reflects this additional labor to ensure your yard is fully cleaned.
Yard Sanitization & Deodorization Sanitization involves applying pet-safe, eco-friendly products to reduce bacteria and viruses in the soil, helping create a healthier outdoor space.
Yes. All products are carefully selected to be effective without harming pets, plants, or the environment.
Frequency depends on yard use, number of dogs, and activity levels. We’re happy to help you decide what’s best.
Yard Conditions We do our best to remove all visible waste. Some conditions can make this difficult:
We can only scoop what we can see.
Long grass and heavy leaf cover can hide waste. We ask that lawns be mowed regularly and leaves cleared so we can provide the best possible service.
Yes. Upon request, we can blow leaves into a corner of your yard so pet waste can be removed. Leaves are not bagged or removed from the property.
Weather & Service Interruptions Yes and no. Dogs continue to create waste year-round, and we will service during winter if staff are available and winter conditions allow. Spring cleanups take place in March as snow melts and are scheduled first-come, first-served.
Most weather conditions do not stop service. However, heavy snow or rain may delay a visit. If this happens, service resumes on your next scheduled day.
We follow WorkSafe Alberta guidelines. Service may be postponed in extreme cold, extreme heat, severe weather, or unexpected staff emergencies. We will always communicate with you.
Safety & Insurance Yes. Puppy Poo Patrol is fully licensed and insured.
Even friendly dogs can become protective when strangers enter their yard. Keeping dogs inside ensures the safety of both pets and technicians.
